Cruise along the nature at Surat Thani’s “Cheiwlan Dam”
Ratchaprapha Dam, or commonly known as Cheiwlan Dam, is located in Surat Thani’s Khao Sok National Park. It is a large lake surrounded by limestone mountains and abundant forests.
Today, we’re here to share some experiences in cruising along the nature at Cheiwlan Dam. First, we get on the boat at Cheiwlan Dam Municipal Pier, but before that, there is an entrance fee for Khao Sok National Park at 50 Baht per person. For this trip, we travel with 500 Rai Floating Resort where the boat will take us to see the nature before entering the resort. In the program, they will take us to see the beauty of the mountains surrounding the water like a “Mini Guilin” or what we call “Khao Sam Kloe.” It is considered to be Cheiwlan Dam’s symbol, with the feature of the limestone mountains being arranged in a row resembling Guilin, a popular tourist destination in China, which is why the name “Guilin of Thailand” is given to this place.
After that, the boat will continue to take you to see the nature in a romantic evening with the view of the sun setting.
In the morning, the resort will take you out on a cruise again for bird watching and to see the morning sea mist, which is as stunning as yesterday’s cruise. Plus, we were lucky to see rare animals like hornbills too, but it’s not surprising as the surrounding area is an abundant forest.
If anyone would like to come, you can contact 500 Rai Floating Resort directly. Not only can you cruise along nature in Cheiwlan Dam, but you also get to relax in the middle of the mountains and the calm lake.
